Tech: 5 Camera Picks of 2015
Got a holiday coming up? Want to invest in a new found photography hobby without breaking the bank? Well, here are five of my camera picks of 2015. Note that all of these cameras are used for casual, without worrying about adjusting the settings before snapping away. In the camera world, this list would be known as compact/semi-pro cameras.

Shall we begin? I can't remember when it first blossom, it should be high school, everyone then wanted to own a DSLR because it was the cool thing to have at that time. Not that now it ain't cool but who has the strength to bring it with you where ever you go? About a year plus ago, I decided that it was time for me to get a proper camera for my blog and etc. I told myself that I ought to be practical, so DSLR was a no no because of it's chunky weight. After extent amount of research and hands on trials, I finally went with the OLYMPUS PEN EPL-5.

Whats the different of a DSLR with a Compact/Semi Pro/Mirrorless Camera?
Everything with DSLR is manual while with Compact, you can either go with the manual control or simple ones that has a build in sensor and already fixed settings along with filters. DSLR are usually used by professionals or camera enthusiasts, but if you're looking for quality pictures without too much of a fuss, I would highly recommend these five cameras below :)

1. Olympus OM-D E-M10

Sensor size: Micro Four Thirds | Resolution: 16.1MP | Viewfinder: EVF |Monitor: 3-inch tilting screen, 1,037,600 dots | Maximum continuous shooting rate: 8fps | Maximum video resolution: 1080p

First one the list would be none other than one of the Olympus family. I absolutely love how most of the Olympus series are beautifully design with a vintage feel. Tho, it might be a little bit pricey, do know that the size is a little smaller than the usual Olympus series. Also a plus point for faster sensors with the build in Micro Four Thirds sensor compared to the other compact camera that uses APS-C. Did I mention that it also has a build in WIFI system?

2. Penasonic Lumix GM1

Sensor size: Micro Four Thirds | Resolution: 16.0MP | Viewfinder: No |Monitor: 3-inch screen, 1,036,000 dots | Maximum continuous shooting rate: 5fps | Maximum video resolution: 1080p

The GM1 ought to be the smallest and lightest compact system camera I have ever used. One of my friend has it and I am always amaze of it when I help her snap her OOTDs or shoot videos for her. Don't let the size full use as just like the Olympus E-M1, GM1 is using Micro Four Thirds format. This also has a build in wifi along with a flash! Sadly my current Olympus EPL-5 flash is an add on, which can be annoying when I need a flash asap when I'm snapping away.

3. Fuji X30

Sensor: 2/3-inch X-Trans, 12MP | Lens: 28-112mm, f/2.0-2.8 | Monitor: 3-inch tilting, 920K dots | Viewfinder: EVF | Continuous shooting: 12fps | Movies:1080 | User level: Intermediate/Expert

Fuji is always known for their beautiful crisp pictures along with their 2/3-inch Fuji X-Trans sensor, excellent film simulation modes, dynamic range expansion and shadow/highlight contrast control. The body also gives a good grip with it's sturdy outlook, traditional manual zoom ring and a also good electronic viewfinder! Seriously, I can't understand why Sony & Olympus don't provide a viewfinder for their compact cameras.

4. Sony A5100

Sensor size: APS-C | Resolution: 24.3MP | Viewfinder: No | Monitor: 3-inch tilting screen, 921,600 dots | Maximum continuous shooting rate: 6fps |Maximum video resolution: 1080p

This ought to be the most popular camera with most of the Malaysian Bloggers. I bet if you were to throw one stone, you would be able to hit 6 girls with the camera. lol. It has a 180 degree flip up screen which you can only imagine the countless selfies you would be able to take with. It also offers 24-megapixel APS-C sensor, a fancy 179-point hybrid AF system for speed and both Wi-Fi and NFC built in. It's a crowd favourite but for me, the picture comes out a little dull at times.

5. Olympus PEN ELP-7

Sensor: 16.1-million-pixel Live MOS sensor | Lens: 14-42mm | Viewfinder: No
Monitor: 1.04 million-dot LCD touchscreen flips downward 180 degrees

I’ve been following Olympus ever since their E-PL series. Fast forward four years and they’ve just launched the latest in the range. Unlike the previous ones, this one is a flipdown touch screen panel that makes it so easy to take selfies with! This totally helps in darker environment as the previous ones can't flip up if you're using the fast. But I kinda wish that they did a build in flash instead of the usual plug in flash. Anyhow, this is still the one out of the five, that I want to have now.

Event: Bloggers Poolside BBQ Party

Event: Bloggers Poolside BBQ Party
I been blogging since I turned 21. Fast forward to today and already two years that have gone by. TBH a lot of people asked me what's it like being a blogger or what's the best thing about being a blogger? Honestly, it would be the friendship that I have made in the process. Sure free stuff is nice, but those are just temporary stuff. With the people I meet at the blogging community, I learn things through their experiences and journey of being where they are today.

NY Steak Shack provided us balloons and amazing goodies

From the blogging community, we usually only hang out at the same events that we go to. The only usual bunch of people you would see me usually with would be either Mary Jane or Carinn. Haha. But thanks to Sidney, we had a blogger poolside BBQ gathering at his place. And you wont believe who he called! Aside from bloggers, he also got along a few companies to help make turn up the party.

What's a party without food? Though it took a tad longer for the food to cook, the result was worth it. I think I went for three rounds to get my share of chicken, lamb, fish, prawns and etc. Writing and thinking back on this is actually making me hungry now. It's been a long time since I had a BBQ and now I'm crossing my fingers that one of my friends would have a BBQ soon to satisfy this crave.

Big thanks to Bakarlah BBQ for the amazing spread of BBQ-goodness

Aside from BBQ food there was also yummy cakes from Eastin Hotel. The cheesecake was AMAZING. Like ohmaigosh, I wish I took a picture for you to just witness the best cheesecake I had. Another crave that is upsetting my tummy now. Anyone thinking of having another pool party?

Since it was a get together, it was a really chilled hangout. People brought their boyfriend, kids, husbands, while I brought Jane. heh. Kinda wish we took a picture together but I wasn't wearing make up and yeah, we kinda didn't remember to take pictures together. I guess food pictures comes first. Oh Andrew and Denise was also with us, seriously I can't believe we didn't take a group picture together.

Jewelry making session by Kelvin Gems & Elegant Jewellery Studio

Anyways like I said everyone brought everyone with them, there were activities at the party too. Face & Body Art corner, along with jewelry making session. The kids totally dominated the booths. I wanted to join in on the fun but the line was just too long.

Andrew getting his profile shot taken by Zung

The last activity where the crowd look forward to ought to be the photo session with Zung, the ninja photographer! In his portfolio, he has captured photos of influential people like Donald Trumps and Richard Branson. It was a little nerve wrecking during the picture taking time, as he would come super close up and everyone at the party would be staring at your shots. But Zung was super sweet, he just told me to relax and the outcome was beautiful. He showed me my pictures through his preview screen of his camera. Am looking forward for the soft copy of the pictures.

The only group picture that was taken
L-R: Kelly, Me, Jane, Rebecca and sweet Miriam

It was a sweet chilled out time at the pool. Thankfully it wasn't too hot and had rained before we started. Just want to give a big shout out to Sidney for taking time to plan something like this for us. He's a food blogger btw, go check out his blog for amazing restaurant to dine in at  Big Boys Oven.

Also thank you, Hei Sushi and NY Steak Shack for the door gift. Sure gonna be fatter with all of the food coming around. Hopefully there would be another chill session soon. I need it ever since work started.

2 MORE WEEKS TO GO. I can do this.
Hope you all have a blessed week ahead!

Tech: Finding Love with A Click and Lunch (LunchClick)

Oh dating, it never gotten so simple as how we have it today. Back then people matched friends up as a blind date, today we got apps to help give us a selection of people we want. However, most of the apps found available tend to be more focus to catering to guys. We heard of apps where people would go to for a fling or just nothing a one time thing, but what about those who are actually looking for something serious? Or dare I say, what about those who are looking for a serious relationship?

After all of the fun and games, it's nice to have someone around and know that you could rely on them. Instead of just looking for some fun, it's nice to go back to that one person. But how do we find that do that when most of the dating apps these days are usually occupied with the very same people who are just looking for excitement instead of a long term? Plus most of the time you wonder whether the people you match on your app is actually single or not.

What if I told you there is an app that is actually created with the main idea to provide women a safe experience for dating? It's none other than LunchClick. You know what they say, "curiosity kills the cat", I was given an opportunity to try this app out and the features in it is like no other dating app I have seen before (Yes I'm guilty of using a dating app, I bet lots of us are).

Whats the difference? Well, for those looking for a safe dating app environment can be relief to know that LunchClick has a strict profile approval. They actually have a Love Assistant (a real person!) sitting in the office, and this person will manually approve all incoming profiles to ensure that users do not have inappropriate pictures or that they're not actually attached. Seriously, I don't understand those who are in a relationship yet found in a dating app or site. It just really unfair to the other users or their partner. Either ways both will get hurt, so I'm really glad that LunchClick actually goes through each profile. All profile approval will take less than a day to be approve.

Something different about this app that benefits the serious daters would be, this app provides a 1 match a day. So this won't give the satisfaction to those daters who are just looking forward to play "the numbers games"/" who gets the most matches". Also, for us girls, this would help filter all of the unnecessary messages from creepy guys.

And when your match and you "like" each other within 24 hours, you get to post a few questions to your match or vise-versa. If you feel like you're out of stuff to talk about, there is even some questions provided to help get to know your match's opinion, interest, style and etc. Goodbye to awkward conversation! Hello LunchClick.

So what are you waiting for?
Download LunchClick via Play Store or App Store!

Review/Promotion: Triumph Magic Wire

Review/Promotion: Triumph Magic Wire
Do you believe in Magic? I didn't at first but after a month of experiencing it, I did. What magic? It's none other than Triumph's Magic Wire Bra. It's a bra without any wire but still provides the firm support along with flexible soft shields memory cushion for the perfect fit.

Had my fitting session at Mid Valley Megamall Triumph Boutique. Seriously this boutique ought to be the prettiest I have ever seen. Even their fitting room was so spacious and it makes you feel like a princess. Got a chance to try on the Triumph Magic Wire and it was so soft I tell you.

Though there isn't any wire in the bra, the amount of support won't make you worry. It also provides a padding for those who needs an extra push in life. The material is lighter than a normal push-up bra. Love how I actually forget that I was wearing a bra, that was how comfortable it was. The Triumph Magic Wire Bra comes in 5 different colours: Pink, Yellow, Aqua Blue, Orange and Dark Blue with matching bottoms. Aside from the lace, they also have a seamless type which is perfect for t-shirts or fitted outfits.

Wearing is believing

Aside from Magic Wire, Triumph also has Aqua Enhancer Bras, which help to give comfort and cleavage push by 2 cup sizes. It also has a low V cut that can go well with any plunge down dresses or tops. The Aqua cushion is as soft a feather.

Aqua Enhancer
Did you know that 3 pieces are sold every minute in Asia?

There is also the Soft Cushion Bra which is a necessity for our everyday wear. It's perfect for those who needs extra comfort. The specialty is the memory cushions, made from malleable memory foam that gently mold to our body contours as it lifts and shapes the bust.

Soft Cushion Bra

In a nutshell, this Magic Wire bra provides me the support and comfort without a wire. Which is great because after a long day of work, I don't want to be feeling uncomfortable. So ever since I got this, it really is like magic and the softness is like no other. However, for those above D cup, I won't recommend this to you as the wire is needed for a firmer support.

Oh btw, this year Triumph is celebrating their 20 Years of Maximizer Magic in Asia as ‘The Maker of Fine Lingerie Since 1886’. Don’t forget to check out Triumph Malaysia Facebook page for “Triumph Celebrates 20 Years Of Maximizer Magic Contest” to win a Triumph Maximizer set!

Now don't say I don't share with you promo stuff! Use Magic Code: "JessyMagic20" at selected Triumph counter to enjoy RM20* off on a Triumph Maximizer bra. Triumph Magic Wire collection available athttp://on.fb.me/1IFw2t7 valid until 31st May 2015 only. Terms and Conditions apply.

People: Pictures You Might Have Missed During The MET Gala
It's been a week since the biggest fashion event of the year, MET Gala. Notice how lots of stars this year wore some of the most ridiculously-divine set of attire? With this year's theme, " China: Through the Looking Glass", they literally went all out to bring see-through gowns to a whole new level along with the oriental feel in the outfit (check out rihanna's). Also, did you know that te organisers of MET Gala actually banned selfies or social media posting during the event? Obviously that never stop any of the stars from posting their favourite snaps onto their instagram. Anyhow, I compiled some of my favourite rare candid moments of the stars caught on camera, during the event. Enjoy!

Anna Wintour in Chanel

Taylor Swift & Karlie Kloss

I always wondered how some celebs manage to get out and into their car with their enormous gown, now I know how.

Food: Parents' Day Promotion by SKY 360° (One City Mall, Subang Jaya)
Mother's Day just passed and we got Father's Day to look forward to! How was the celebration to pamper your mom? Ever feel like you would just want to celebrate both your parent's together instead of doing it separately? Well you know what? Here's your chance to do so with SKY 360° (rooftop restaurant) at eCity Hotel in One City Mall, Subang Jaya. This promotion meal will be from early April to the end of June.

For those who want to splurge on your parents without breaking the bank, here is a chance to do so while enjoying the beautiful panoramic skyline view of the city. FYI aside from your parent's, personally I feel this set can also be a romantic date meal for the couples. Either ways, it's a great atmosphere to bring your love ones.

Just in case you don't know what One City got to offer,
you can click here to view my previous post of the mall :)

Guests can place their orders from 7pm - 10pm everyday with a 3-course meal choice of Menu A or Menu B. Set meals would consist of starter, main course, dessert along with drinks.

parents day menu 2015 sky 360 ecity hotel one city subang jaya

Both Menu A (RM 50 Nett) & Menu B (RM 60 Nett) are inclusive of GST and comes with a starter dish of unique Wild Mushroom Soup that has shiitake, button, oyster mushroom, onion, leek, celery and is served with garlic bread.

I love the fact that there was cream on top of the soup and
that it was served with an unconventional garlic bread

As for the main dish, there is a choice of either Grilled Chicken Chop with BBQ sauce served with corn on the cob, coleslaw, mashed potato, or the restaurant’s signature Special SKY 360° Fried Rice prepared with a generous portion of seafood served with spicy chicken wing, fried egg and acar jelatah.

Grilled Chicken Chop (Jessy's Recommendation)
It was really moist and tender. Love everything about this dish.

Special SKY 360° Fried Rice

Then end the meal with a sweet delight dessert either with a scoop of Ice Cream in vanilla, strawberry or chocolate flavour or the delicious Mango Pudding served with refreshing fruits.

While, Menu B (RM 60 Nett) comes with the same starter dish, then followed by a choice of Grilled Lamb Shoulder with black pepper sauce served with corn on the cob, coleslaw, mashed potato, or a delicious Aglio Olio Seafood.

Aglio Olio Seafood (Jessy's Recommendation)

As for the desert and drinks, it is similar to Menu A. Drinks choices consist of Coffee, Tea or Iced Lemon Tea.

Before tasting it all

If I were to choose, Menu A would be what I would order. Seriously love the Mango Pudding and the chicken chop. The corn on the chicken chop and lamp was absolutely de-lish. It has a creamy sauce that suits it perfectly.

Have a beautiful time pampering your papa and mama!
