Movie: Disney Descendants

Movie: Disney Descendants
Last Sunday was the sneak preview of Disney's new film, the Descendants. I'm pretty sure many have seen snippets and brief previews of the movie on social media and are wondering how a movie about the children of classic Disney characters will pan out. Any Disney fans here?! You're in for a treat!

Disney's Descendants is a modern-day, music-driven story about the challenges in living up to parental and peer expectations, and will undoubtedly strike a chord with young teens. The movie features the children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella De Vil and Jafar who were originally imprisoned on the forbidden Isle of the Lost where all the villains are banished. In an act of benevolence, Prince Ben (the son of Belle and Beast) decides to offer a chance at redemption to the four of them - Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay, allowing them to enter the kingdom of Auradon for the first time to attend prep school.

Jay, son of Jaafar (Remember him from XMEN?)

Of course there are bound to be drama and a little of romantic to shake things up. There are even songs sang in the movie. Think High School Musical + a twist of Disney = Descendants  That's all of the spoilers I'll be giving you guys! You can find the movie on Disney Chanel on Astro at 615 (Sunday, 13th September 11am | Wednesday, 16th September 10am)

The one thing that really stood out about the movie was that it delved into the perspective of the teenage children of villains that were 'rotten to the core' to the opposite. Expect cheesy lines, cliche high school acts and sing a long songs, which would actually grow on you. The movie is something I remember watching while growing up, so I bet kids, preteens and even teens might be able to relate.

Plus guess what?! After this movie, I heard that there is a sequel and animated series coming up next!
