5 Must Visit Places In Penang

5 Must Visit Places In Penang
I realized that I rarely shared about my travels in Malaysia. We often glamorize about traveling overseas but really Malaysia have many hidden gems to enjoy. Plus when I was a college student living on a budget, I enjoyed the short random road trips I had with my friends. Here are a bunch of places I discovered when I was in Penang as a college student. PS. In case you're wondering why I look different here, I was 22 at that time.

1. Chew Jetty
I am a city girl, so to be able to walk down a waterborne community is something mesmerizing. It's a place where you be able to enjoy the serene sea scene in the middle of the modern hustling busy city. Plus it's also a good place to take pictures.

2. Armenien Street
It's a beautiful street that you can stroll along with your friends or family. At every corner you'll be able to spot the ever so famous Penang's Street Art. You can opt to cycle or walk to catch all of the artsy murals. Don't forget to stop by and grab some cendol and snack along the way from the friendly vendors by the street. What's better than a good bowl of cendol on a sunny day!

3. Penang Hill
This iconic hill of Penang, is often raved about and for good reasons. Even though it is a tourisy spot, but you have to visit it at least once. Because the view there of Penang is absolutely breathtaking. I can spend hours just watching Penang from above. I think my friends and I actually spent a couple hours there just enjoying the view and chating about the future. If you feel it's too crowded, walk away from the entrance of the hill top and you'll be able to find a quiet spot at a hut (pondok) to rest and enjoy the view.

If you're in Penang and you're looking for a place to stay at, you can check out Alora Hotel Penang. I usually use Traveloka Malaysia as my hotel/flights locator when I'm traveling.

4. Laksa, Ayer Itam Pasar
THIS PLACE is serves the best laksa! Well it is the best laksa to me. Love their shredded mackerel fish on the top of the bowl. Felt like they served generous amount of ingredients in a bowl. This place is along the Ayer Itam market. It's super near Kek Lok Si Temple if you're in the area.

5. Batu Feringghi Beach
After enjoying the heritage of Penang, you can also enjoy the scenic view of the ocean. My friends and I came here to enjoy the sunset. We also went a little crazy and did paragliding while we were there. Note to girls, TIE UP YOUR HAIR. I went with a friend and all he saw when we were paragliding was my hair in his face. Sorry Lawrence.

DISCLAIMER: These are places I personally went to and enjoyed. If you have any other places that you feel should be here, feel free to comment and share them :)

Have a great weekend guys!

Nara Day Summer Trip | Japan

Nara Day Summer Trip | Japan
Oh Japan, always heard about you from my friends and finally got the chance to visit you. Even when the weather was scorching hot, there's still a beauty in every season. Thankful that I got a chance to visit Japan for the first time due to work. Despite shooting at various location around Osaka, we got to enjoy sight seeing a bit. Wanted to do an extensive blog about my entire Japan trip during the summer of 2016 but I guess I will split it out parts of each location and season (I actually went back to Japan at autumn 2016). Do stay tune to my other blogposts about it.

I know some people might skip Nara as a destination for their holiday while in Osaka, since it's an hour and half away by train. Heck, even myself, I almost took Nara out from our schedule. But you know? I don't regret going there. I got to try out amazing ramen, see an older side of Japan, walk and spend time with some deer. I'm not an animal person by the way, but it was nice to be able to walk in various locations with the deer. The deer are usually found outside of the temples or at the deer park.

Here are some snapshots I took when I was in Nara. I used both my camera and phone.

It will take 1 hour and 30 minutes by train from Osaka to Nara
Location: Kintetsu Nara Station
You know you're in Nara, when everything around you is decorated with deers.

OSAKA TO NARA TRAVEL DETAILS:
Transportation: Train (Kintetsu-Nara Line)
Time: 1 hour and 30 minutes or 50 minutes (If you take Kintetsu-Limited Express)
Card: ICOCA Card (Make sure to get the Kansai One Pass edition)

From Osaka-Namba Station, take the Kintetsu-Nara Line to Kintetsu-Nara Station

Location: Higashimuki Minamimachi Avenue
This is the only shopping street in Nara. You can purchase food, souvenir and local goods here.
My ramen covered with pork slices on top
This lady ignoring the no park sign. I guess only in Japan can you get a Ticket for your bicycle.
Everything is widely spread in Nara, it's the best time to rent a bike or hop on various buses/taxis
This reminds me of an anime scene
Crew Shot of The Day
Sweat the most on this day, the weather showed no mercy. It felt like it was hotter than Malaysia.
Location: Sanjo Dori
Location: Nara Park (名勝奈良公園の石碑)

Oh yeah! I bet most of you don't care about this, but every time I touch a new animal I wonder how is it like. It was my first time getting up close to a deer and it was a bit scary because they got long tongues and I hate being lick at. But you know what? Until now, I think Kangaroo's fur is still the softest I have ever touched.
We only spent half a day in Nara and head over to the Southern part of Kyoto. To be honest, there are many more beautiful part of Nara but we were too tired to walk under the sun and went straight to our next destination. If you are traveling to Nara, do check out Isuien Garden and Yoshikien Garden. I regretted not going there. Anyways there is always next time! Stay tune to the next blogpost of Japan!

Have a great weekend ahead!

Going Brunette With Number 76
Hey guys, been wanting to update you guys on my hair makeover I did on New Year's Eve but never got a chance to do so (SO DELAY RIGHT?). Yes I know it's already the end of March, how time flies right?
I had my hair done at Number76 Bangsar Outlet
Their interior set up always make me smile.
If only I could decorate my house with a homey woody vibe.
Here are the price list.
If you want to view the full list of services and prices, you can check out their website, HERE.

You get a complimentary welcome drink while waiting for your hair stylist
I had the French Brew. Perfect drink to keep me awake.

My hair colour faded from the previous PURPLE HAIRDYE. To view my other hair colours, click HERE or HERE.

 Before colour and treatment
I did the Ultrasonic Premium Treatment to get back my smooth hair
This picture is the best after picture as you can really see the top and bottom colour difference
Btw I blocked my face because I wasn't ready for the picture and I looked derpy. haha.
 With natural light

In case you're wondering why the hair colour looks different in some of the pictures, I used both my camera (Sony) and phone (Xiao Mi) to take them. You can see the ash colour at certain angles. Anyways hope that you guys have a great weekend!

Anyways despite the delay upload of this blogpost, wanted to show you guys the colour when I first had it done. It was absolutely gorgeous, IVAN from Number 76 Bangsar is a genius. Do find him when you're in the outlet. I told him to surprise me in any shade of brown and he totally did. He gave me an ashy brown two toned colour. With the darker shade of brown from the top and the lighter shade towards the ends.
