Food: Fatburger (IOI City Mall, Putrajaya)
Most of us have eaten a burger at least once in our lives. Some even indulge in burgers at least once a day. True? Well, guess what? To all burger fans, you would be ecstatic to know that Los Angeles Famous Burger Chain, Fatburger™ is now in Malaysia! Fatburger™, "the good kind of fat", is a family dining outlet serving original recipe, fresh lean beef flown from Australia and cooked-to-order gourmet burgers. Usually we view FAT as a negative term but at Fatburger™, FAT it stands for Fresh, Authentic, and Tasty. Their burgers are halal and made with fresh premium ingredients.

Why is it call Fatburger™? Well, in 1952, the founder Lovie Yancey created a phenomenon back in the day. She created the biggest and juicest burger anyone had ever seen in the past, hence it's name, Fatburger. Fatburger™'s menu offers patties of varying size (small to large) and in varying quantity (XXL for a two large patties, XXXL for three large patties). Fatburger™ most known celeb fan would be Jay Leno, where he conquered Fatburger XXXL Burger Challenge in 5 minutes! (Click HERE for details). Do you think you would be able to take up that challenge?

Reigning from USA, Los Angeles, Fatburger™ is now found in various countries like China, Qatar, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Canada and now Malaysia! They recently launched their new store opening in IOI City Mall where I was invited along with a few other bloggers to try out their food. Fatburger™ also have another outlets in Citta Mall and KOMTAR JBCC, Johor btw. The store's environment was vibrant and brightly light up with the theme of 1960s western diner.

Tangled Texas Twist || RM 17.95

Aside from burgers, Fatburger is also known for their "Tangled Texas Twist". You have gotta try this! It is decked with queso verde sauce, beef bacon, cheddar jack cheese, sour cream and freshly cut tumbleweed chips. Love how amazing rich this was and because the chips were served thin, it wasn't too overwhelming.

Single Fatburger || RM 14.95

I love the bun for this burger. It wasn't soggy even when I took my time to eat it. It was a little messy for me when I opened it but I absolutely love the mustard sauce in it. The meat was juicy but a little oily. Since the quantity of vegetables were generous, overall it was a balanced burger.

Cookies & Ice Cream Milkshake || RM 15.55

This drink was a surprise! Most of the time when I order a milkshake from a burger store, it's often thick and overwhelming after a few sips. But for this it was light and rich which is good since we had a lot of other dishes to try. They serve all things western too from chips, burgers, milkshakes, to wraps, buffalo wings, salad and even desserts!

Chicken Caesar Wrap || RM 17.95

Arpache Chicken Wrap || RM 17.95

Arpache Chicken Wrap is packed with Grilled chicken topped with chipotle ranch, pepper jack cheese, onion straws, lettuce and tomato. served in tortilla. If you're hoping for something tasteful and filling, I would recommend this. Love this more than their Chicken Caesar Wrap, which was a little too healthy for me.

Buffalo Wings

I think this sauce was mild, which was just right for me since I can't take spicy. For those with an adventurous spirit with spice can challenge themselves for the hottest level. Love the wings especially paired with the sour cream.

Sizzling Brownie || RM 17.95

This would be a delight for all chocolate fans, the other bloggers loved this but it was a little too rich for me.

Fried Cheesecake || RM 16.95

This was really unique. Seriously how often have you heard of Fried Cheesecake? It was like having a bite of fried ice cream. The mixture of sweet and savoury. Would definitely order this again if I'm back.

Food that I would recommend having there would be their buffalo wings. XXXL burger, Tangled Texas Twist, Cookies and Ice Cream Milkshake, Arpache Chicken Wrap and Fried Cheese Cake

Now we don't have to travel all the way to America to enjoy Fatburger

FOOD: Palsaik Samgyupsal Korean BBQ - The Scott Garden
Hey all, if you have been following my instagram last month, you would know that I had a vacation in Korea. I posted a picture of KOREAN BBQ (Click HERE to view) and guess what? That very restaurant I went to when I was in Seoul, is actually found in MALAYSIA too. Haha. Such a coincidence right? FYI Palsaik is known for their 8 Flavours Samgyupsal (pork belly/bacon). The 8 flavours include wine, ginseng, garlic, soybean, herb, hot pepper, pine and curry.

Photo Credits: Jason

Was invited to Palsaik at Scott Garden two weeks ago for their first year anniversary in Malaysia. Still can't believe that I missed out on them for a year but at least I could compare both of their outlets in Malaysia and in Korea.

It was the day I submitted my thesis, so do excuse how I look. heh. Anyways since I finished the dreaded thesis that I have been worrying about for months, it was time to let loose. I decided to try out Korean Alcohol. I had soju with my friends last time, so I thought to try the other drinks they offer in a typical Korean BBQ place.

L-R: Plum Wine || Rice Wine (Makguli) RM 20 || Raspberry Wine RM 40 ||

If you're thinking to grab something light and refreshing, I would highly recommend the Rice Wine. But you want to enjoy and have a little kick in your drink then, Raspberry Wine would be for you. And if you're thinking for something a little stronger, order the Plum Wine. But of course, if you want to drink to forget, SOJU it is for you. My favourite was the Raspberry Wine. It was sweet and just right for my alcohol tolerance. It was surprising to see that their pricing is the same as their Korea Outlet pricing.

3 Colour Set (Set for 2 People) RM 92
8 Colour Set (Set for 3-4 People) RM 112
Premium Set (Set for 3-4 People) RM 142
List of Drinks
Media and Bloggers enjoying their Set of Feast

We all got to try the premium set, which contains 8 different ingredients pork belly, seafood soup, refillable vegetables and grilled deodeok (lanceolate) root and premium kimchi. Let me warn you that if you are a group of 4 girls, I would recommend you having the set with two bowls of rice only. There was a lot of meat and we were stuff at the end of the event. Sauces and vegetables were serve first. Tho we ate a lot, I felt healthy and not that guilty. Why? I had more vegetables during this time as compare to my entire month of Vege intake.

 Cucumbers with Korean Dipping Sauce
that is usually a great combination with your samgyeopsal! FYI I usually have 4 refills of this.

FYI the free refillable are only applicable to the leaves.

 Appetizer: Salad with Vinegar
Like I said, you would be digesting lots of vegetables.

Seafood Soup
There is crabs, squid, clams, tofu, prawns and etc. The sad thing is, Korea's outlet serves octopus in the soup and Palsaik Malaysia don't. You can ask for free refill for the soup if you finish yours. The soup was sourish spicy. It's a little spicy for me but most of my friends totally enjoyed it and you can really taste all of the seafood in the soup!

They use radish to oil up the pan and to removed burned meat.
Never knew how useful radish was until that day. lol

 The mouthwatering 8 flavours of Pork!

The server start by adding on kimchi, mushroom and chilis to the BBQ plates before the meat!

 Just look at those glorious meat!

If you're worry that you may burn your meat, fret not. The waiters there would do it for you! Just beware of the smoke and a little splatter of the oil. I won't recommend wearing thick clothes because you may get a little hot. It is BBQ after all.

 There is also normal kimchi served on the pan.

Premium Kimchi || RM 25

This kimchi has been fermented for a long time. Longer than the usual, hence it's premium kimchi. I'm not a fan of it. I kinda love my kimchi fresh and this premium kimchi was too tangy for me.

Grilled Spicy Lanceolate Root || RM 30

At that night, I thought this was ginseng. Silly right? Anyways I googled it and it's Lanceolate Root. It taste like meat actually and it wasn't spicy. I actually liked it. I tried it raw also, it was surprisingly good. So I guess you could opt for raw if you dare.

Assorted Mushrooms || RM 15

 Cheese Stir Fried Rice || RM 15

You could also call for add ons onto your set. We had mushrooms and cheese fried rice for extras! The cheese stir fried rice was cooked on our seafood soup pot. It was really filling and so good. Thinking back of it s making me drool.

 Seafood Pancake cooked by CEO Palsaik Malaysia's Wife

There was an abundance of octopus found in it! If only this was serve in Palsaik, definitely one of the best korean pancakes I had so far.

 The girls and I
Thank you Elana for the invite! And thank you Palsaik for the wonderful food.

Shall blog about the Palsaik Korea Outlet soon. For now, I shall highlight the difference of Malaysia and Korea outlet.

Malaysia's Palsaik Outlet
- No octopus in the seafood soup
- Friendlier staff
- Cleaner and brighter than the Korea outlet
- No age entry restrictions
(You have to be 19 and above to enter the Palsaik Korea Outlet because of the availability of alcohol)

Palsaik is located above CIMB Bank
Be careful when you go to Scott Garden at night, I do find it a little dodgy.

Shall be back for more
FYI I have been to Palsaik after the first year anniversary with my uni friends and can't wait to bring my family. Feel like this place is a wonderful place to catch up with friends and families.

Do make sure to call for reservations to avoid disappointments

Happy Chinese New Year Everyone!

Food: Owl Espresso, SS 15 Subang Jaya & #JomReunion Contest
Chinese New Year is coming, you know what that means right? Here comes the heat wave. I don't know about you all but instead of keeping myself cool in an aircon room, I rather enjoy something cold to take my mind off the heat. Especially something sweet!

With CNY coming, it's always good to know of quick to go places for desserts/coffee or just a place to chill with your mates or relatives. Plus good news is that this cafe offers desserts, coffee, free wifi, aircon and closes only at wee hours. It's like the perfect student hang out spot. Plus I love the songs they play there. There were a few indie bands and acoustic covers from soundcloud. The place is quite spacious and there is even a balcony for you to chill to grab some fresh air.

Been to Owl Espresso for about 3 times now. Not sure when were they open but their Bingsu (Korean Shaved Ice) never fails to put a smile on my face. Unlike the other famous bingsu cafes around, felt like Owl Espresso one is my favourite. There is that fresh taste unlike the rest where it just tasted full of preservatives. Plus almost all of their Bingsu have sunflower seeds at the bottom. Felt like if you need a healthy opt of dessert, they have it.

Typical order call machine

 Yogurt and Fruits (Small) || RM 13

This ought to be the healthiest bingsu I ever had. There is watermelon, blackberry, honeydew, jelly, ice cream, nuts, mango and even sunflower seed. This would be perfect if you're planning to cool off a hot day. I barely finish this small bingsu with my friend, so I would recommend you sharing this with at least 2 of your friends.

 Mango Cheese (Small) || RM 16

This was incredible! Like totally unexpected. When I saw cheese, I didn't know that the cheese would be served in bits of a cheesecake form. It was so good. Never knew what a good combo mango and cheese could be. This bingsu also had more cheese and sunflower seeds at the bottom. I had this with 2 of my friends and it was just perfect. FYI, I think the nuts for this bingsu was almond.

 Cookies and Cream (BIG) || RM 22

This was gigantic! There were 6 of us and it was just overwhelming! We ordered this and a small mango cheese. I guess we didn't expect it to be so big. And we had just finish our dinner. But oh man, their 'big' is really HUGE. Just beware. This was just alright for me. I'm more of a fruity person as compare to chocolate, so I don't think I can help describe more than I feel. It was filling, we didn't finish it in the end. It was just too much. lol.

Oh, do know that this is a self service place. You order at the counter and wait for the order call then, collect your food. There is also complimentary water that you can grab on your own. Besides that, they have wraps, sandwiches, cakes and coffee!

So need a cool fix this CNY? Don't say I didn't share. haha.
